this is an excellent intro well done..I have to revisit this again lol as Im not that bright but it helps a LOT

In the File Section of Aries-Films[.]Net you can download everything you need to create your videos and go even further. ONLY DIRECT FTP LINKS

change it when u make a new compsition

you go to composition, composition settings, and at the bottom set how long you would like your timeline to be.

its kool bt i wana see how u use motion tracking with amvs/anime

Go to composition settings.

I do that at the beginning of the video, see how it says duration? Replace that with what ever time you want, and if you want a minute replace the 20 with 00 and move over one so it would look like this. 0:01:00:00 or for 30 seconds 0:00:30:00.

How did you get your timeline to 20 seconds? My AE only goes to 10 and it’s really frustrating editing 10 seconds at a time.

THANKS DUDE!
I just got AE and its starting to make sense!

Welcome john, actually its quite the opposite for me, I’m trying to use Photoshop, maybe you could post some tutorials or give me some help. lol

Thanks “dude” lol. I just got AE and it’s confusing compared to Ps, this was really helpful!

Thats another point im trying to make I AM BETTER! Lol than was as shown in this video. Half of a year ago is a good enough time to learn some new things. I have been busy though since i just moved from Maryland to Washington state to live with my dad, so i haven’t put up any videos yet, Haven’t gotten around to editing them.

didnt mean to offend you, but if a Noob comes to learn as we look for free tutorials, it will get more confuse than before. Also no disrespect, but your tecnic is wrong as you can see your motion tracking is pretty lame, I mean in this video. but Im sure you will get better

Why do you say that? I made this tutorial in april. I have study after effects a good amount of time in between that. I mean when i made this i only knew about a quarter of the things i knew now. Also what does that have to do with anything, its a basic tutorial and yes i did get mixed up with some simple things but like i said this was 6 months ago. Also you can’t say you know for sure on a assumption, that’s just rude.

muaaaa Im pretty new on after effects , but I know for sure I do know 3 times more than you do. Sorry mate but learn propperly before doing a tutorial, your video is a …….., well you know what I mean

kool, but how would i make a video appear on a phone and move with the phone like they on phone commercials when they show iphone or something

THANKS! Wanna be friends?

Ohh just use page up and page down keys on the keyboard. Page down moves forward a frame and page down moves it back a frame.

At 5:00! You were going frame by frame and you weren’t moving it with your mouse. How?

Hmm? What are you talking about? Like at what point in the video?

How do you move the little frame thing without your mouse?

lol when i did this tutorial yea it was, but also i went to a baseball game prior, so it was a little hoarse from that too. Thanks for watching.

lol your voice is cracking lol ha ha, good job ;)

thanks , i know what to do now and since i just got after effects a few days ago is it normal for the video that you just imported and then played to be really laggy . Because when i play it the green line loads like 5 seconds then it laggs heaps and stops

Well you’d size the picture down into the correct size and parent it to the null object instead of parenting a text box to the null object.
