What kind of tips can you give me for new photography business?

Hi everyone! I’m in the process of starting my own photography business and I would appreciate and tips you could give me! Also, I’m looking for a name for my business. I was going to use my last name, but I’m in the process of getting married in the next few years and I don’t want to change my business name after I get married.
Any tips or ideas would be great! Thanks!

The most important thing that you can do is to make sure that everyone gets at least ONE photograph they can be proud to display and share.
Too many photographers have a ‘next, please’ mentality. Be willing to take the time to really bring out your subject in their true light.
Since most photographers are in digital medium now, price should be a great consideration. Many outlets are SO expensive that the average family can no longer afford a ‘family portrait sitting’. Keep your prices competitive enough that the average family can do business with you.
Seek to offer senior portraits and prom packages for all of the local schools. School picture packages are often arranged as a combination of a school fundraiser and a photo op for families.
Little League photos and sports cards for kids are big in our area.
Most importantly: be friendly, professional and willing to make every sale count.
