Please name all the stock photography sites you know.?Posted by brian | Posted in Stock Photography help | Posted on 07-30-2010Tags: Know, Name, Photography, please, Sites, Stock5 I found a stock photography site but I forgot what it was! So I’m asking you people to list all the stock photography sites you know. I’m hoping one of the sites you guys say is the one I forgot. On the site I forgot, you had to take this test on lighting and other company symbols in your picture, and all that other stuff about stock photos. They also required a sample of the kind of pictures you take for you to be able to put your pictures on their site. Well, that’s all I know, so good luck peoples!!!! :)

Stock Photography questions?Posted by brian | Posted in Stock Photography help | Posted on 07-29-2010Tags: Photography, Questions, Stock6 Hello
I’m on a stock photography website and I’ve found some images that I’m interested in downloading. Not for advertising, but to use them for a theme on my computer. Anyways, I’m not interested in buying the image, so is there a way that I can download the full size image without paying?? Also, just a quick question. Not that I would do this, but if someone were to right click on an image and download it, would the company have any way of finding out who’s responsible for downloading the image?? I’m just curious how they protect their images from being stolen. My last question is, on the website, there is an option that says “download comping image”. What does “comping” mean exactly?? Is this photography book out of date regarding stock photography?Posted by brian | Posted in Stock Photography help | Posted on 07-28-2010Tags: Book, date, Photography, regarding, Stock, This1 I bought a ‘new’ book with a publication date of 2000 that’s about stock photography–250 pages long & 200 of them on how to set up your own specialized online stock photo company. The author’s had a business for 40 years. The information he provides seems hopelessly out of date. He claims you can make a good living if you find a niche with your own copyrighted photographs. Sure, if you started 40 years ago maybe. But is his advice basically worthless nowadays since photography has gone online and digital? I think so, and I want my money back–in fact it seems just about every marketing book on photography published before 2005 or so is out of date. True?
