The first in a series of Chinese film spoofs. This was an underground production by the Black Ice Studio, a well-known black and white photography studio, and DV artist Lu Xiaobao’s Xiaobao Communications. It marries comical dialogue with scenes from Farewell My Concubine, Keep Cool, Ashes of Time, and other Chinese films both classic and modern. See www.danwei.org for more information.

(This video is a companion piece to our comprehensive interactive feature at www.gmanews.tv In 1946, a photographer named Teodulo Protomartir took a series of striking images of what was then the rubble of post-war Manila.
