The word photography is derived from the Greek words “graphein” (to draw) and “photos”(light). The scientist John Herschel was the first human to use this term in the year 1839. Hence, photography is the method of using light to register images on a medium made from sensitive material. With the help of light, images can be caught on a suitable medium.

The first image

On one summer day in 1827, Joseph Nicephore Niepce, a Frenchman, managed to create the first image after working for eight hours on it. His companion, Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre managed to lower the exposure time to les than thirty minutes in addition to preventing the image from disappearing. This way exposure time decreased and image sustenance increased.

The daguerreotype

Daguerre invented the most practical procedure for the development of photographs. Daguerre was born close to Paris, France. He was a professional opera scene painter before he started experimenting with photography. After years of experimentation with light effects on imagery, he was finally able to develop a procedure to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of photographs. He sold these rights to the government of France and went on to write a book on his findings.

Pinhole Camera

One person who is renowned in the optical field is Ibn Al-Haytham, a man who lived during the middle ages. Al-Haytham invented the pinhole camera in which the resulting image had to be viewed upside down. Della Porta, an European reinvented the pinhole camera and we went on to publish his findings with respect to the pinhole camera.

Flashbulb

The credit of being the first inventor of the flashbulb goes to Paul Vierkotter, an Australian. With the help of a magnesium-coated wire placed inside a vacuum-sealed glass globe he invented the flashbulb. Later, this was replaced with a foil of aluminum in side oxygen filled enclosure. By 1930 the flashbulb became available commercially. Johannes Ostermeier, a German national, patented the flashbulb. These flashbulbs came to be known as vacublitz. The company called General Electric made the Sashalite, another version of the flashbulb.

Instant Photographs

Polaroid cameras can be used for taking instant photographs. Edwin Land created these kinds of cameras. His contributions to photography have opened up new avenues in photography with instant photos. This wiped out exposure time as a factor.

These fast facts are enough to give you a brief overview on the history of photography. You will gain more passion for photography if you know the background and history of photography.

Many of us have had the privilege of attending the wedding of a family member or friend, and many of us have witnessed the excitement which comes from taking those all important photographs. Wedding pictures are a pivotal point of the day as it is your chance to capture great moments from your special day which you will never forger. Many couples may have a set idea of how they wish their wedding photos to look, which they can discuss with their wedding photographer; others may be open to their photographer’s own personal ideas and will allow them to use their own creativity to capture some great pictures.

There are many different styles of photography which can be used effectively in order to capture the best images of your big day. Some of these you may be aware of already, some you may have researched and others you may have noticed through viewing the wedding pictures of an acquaintance. One of the most popular styles for wedding pictures is the photojournalistic style, which has been adopted by photographers for a wide range of projects. A photojournalistic style means capturing images of the day in a more spontaneous way which helps to emphasize the overall emotion of the day, as well as capturing each moment in all of its glory. This is a step away from the more traditional, static method and makes the images when finished, look much more vibrant and alive, thus creating more effective images. It has been adopted by many wedding photographers who feel that the traditional, more rigid method of wedding photography is slightly out-dated and desire to capture something new, different and exciting. In short, the photographer lets the action happen and captures it, rather than making it happen through posing, thus creating a more natural outcome for your wedding pictures. Traditionally, a wedding photographer may wait until the end of the ceremony to begin taking images of the day, which is typically when all guests of the wedding will also be outside the premises. With the use of a wedding photojournalist, you will be able to capture all of the moments of your big day, capturing the whole story, as opposed to select moments.

For some, this method maybe slightly daunting as it takes away the need for posing and setting up the scene which may cause some to feel that their images are less structured. In actual fact, this is a much more successful method in which to have your wedding pictures taken as it eliminates the awkwardness and problems which can come from the subjects having to pose, smile, get into position and make it all look comfortable and natural. By having your images captured in this way, your images will be relaxed, natural, exciting and truly unique to other images you may have seen in the past. It is an extremely artistic and skilled style of photography, and is not necessarily a simple case of waiting and snapping. Photojournalists need to watch every second carefully and be ready to capture those great moments from the wedding, thus creating fantastic, beautiful images which are sure to be thoroughly enjoyed and loved by both the couple and their loved ones for years to come.

The reason for giving such flexibility by DigiCamCash is that it realizes that all people who wish to be a member are not professional photographers or internet savvy.
